Defender Room Air Cleaner Qualified
as Medical Device by FDA
HMI Industries Inc., manufacturer of the FILTERQUEEN brand of indoor air filtration appliances has been cleared by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to market the Defender Room Air Cleaner as a Class II medical device.

The Defender was found to have efficiency ratings better than HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air), the industry standard.

"The Defender is a medical device designed to remove airborne particles and allergens such as dust, smoke, pollen, mold spores, animal dander, dust mites, and harmful fibers that may lead to allergic reactions," said John A. Pryor, President and COO of HMI Industries. "HMI's initiative from day one has been to provide our customers with the highest quality indoor air filtration products in the industry, and we're proud to have our success validated by the FDA, " he continued.

The decision by the FDA allows HMI to commercially market the Defender Room Air Cleaner for medical uses.

The Defender will be manufactured utilizing the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practice Requirements (GMP), that govern methods used in design, parts purchasing, manufacture, packaging, labeling, storing, installation, and service of product.

Test data regarding bacterial filtration efficiency tests, airborne molecular contamination tests, filter efficiency tests, and clean air delivery rates is available from HMI Industries.

HMI Industries Inc. is a Cleveland, Ohio based, worldwide, direct selling company engaged in the manufacture and sale of high filtration portable surface cleaners, central vacuum cleaning systems, and portable room air cleaners under the FILTERQUEEN brand name.

What could be more important than the air you breathe?
Millions of Americans are needlessly breathing unhealthy amounts of air pollution every day, right in their own homes. That’s why you need an air purifier. But which one will help destroy bacteria, viruses and mold, and capture cooking odors, chemical fumes, pet odors, cigarette smoke and other indoor air pollutants? An Oreck Professional Air Purifier. Here’s something you can try. Place a balloon above one of the popular stick-style units you see advertised and watch what happens. It falls to the floor. There’s virtually no air movement at all. That’s why a well-known consumer products magazine reported that the leading stick style unit was “ineffective”. Now place the balloon above the Oreck Air Purifier and watch what happens. The balloon floats above the purifier! That’s pure, fresh air pushing it. You might even see this on television in one of our Oreck infomercials. The proof is obvious. Choose the right air purifier for your family. Take the balloon test. You be the judge.

According to the EPA, the air inside your home may be up to 10 times more polluted than the air outside. But now there's a scientific way to deep clean the air in your home with the new, super quiet Super Air 8 Professional Air Purifier. Think of it as a wellness machine. Acclaimed for its performance by professional panels in pre-introductory trials, each of these remarkable units bears its own unique, registered serial number.

The Oreck XL Super Air 8 Professional Air Purifier completely regenerates the air in a 30'x 30' room every hour and destroys bacteria. It uses electronic precipitation, with 5-stage filtration - the same system used in the US Submarine Fleet. And it's as economical to run continuously as an ordinary light bulb.

Permanent Filter with 12-Year Guarantee Never Needs Replacing.
